The Camino de Santiago is one of the major Christian Pilgrimages, and ranks third next to Jerusalem and Rome.  There are many routes that pass through Europe to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.  The route we chose is pictured above.  Commonly referred to as the Camino Frances, it is the most popular route and travels almost 800 KM from St Jean Pied de Port in the south of France to Santiago de Compostela.

Our journey took us 35 days, with 2 rest days, first in Burgos and again in Leon.  When you walk that distance you get into a rhythm and the people you walk with become your family.  We didn’t always walk at the same pace, nor stay in the same place, but we would always meet those that had a special place in our hearts over and over again!  To this day, some of the most special people visit, even though we are a world apart…

This is a tale of our journey, and perhaps bits and pieces of other people’s journey where we had the priveledge of sharing time along “the way”.  I hope you enjoy!
