Day 11, Glencoe to Oban

Another glorious day in Scottish paradise!  Today we are off to do some hiking in Glen Coe, and then off to Oban…but first, a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Ian and Suzanne’s son Geoff…. Hope your day is a great one!!!!

We headed back to the Inn by the glen where we had had super last night to do a couple of hours of hiking before we left this part of the country… Oh my, if we could have weather like this we would all be willing to stay on here for a awhile… This is what we found on our hike!

This next shot is priceless… And so typical of the four of us… Suzanne and I are faffing about doing a selfie, while we catch Ian making memorable photos and Dan has wondered off and is exploring what there is to see from the bridge! ( for some reason I can’t access this photo, but will Facebook it later!).
Every where we turned the vistas were incredible!

Even the granite pebbles in the stream provided a brilliant colour blast against the wonderful greens of the forest!

After this walk, we drove further into the Glen Coe valley to see this magnificent vista, and more that surrounded us!

We had to pull ourselves away from this heavenly place and move on down the coast… We decided to stop for lunch at a small port called Lismore which was absolutely delightful!  Some Cullen Skink and we were ready to go!  But first a wee look at the scenery!

On down the road we went to Oban, where we found our lovely B and B!

Now this is taken from the roadside gate!  To get down to the Main Street we climbed the equivalent of 12 floors!!!  But what a view!

Suzanne and Ian spent some time this pm with a cousin who lives close by, and Dan and I toured the town and scoped out possible tours/itinerary for tomorrow…when we were back together it was time for a lovely meal St the Oban brewery Pub, and then back to the B and B for a night cap ( including some local malt!), and to watch the sun go down!

Like I said… What a view!  Tomorrow, we are off to the islands of Mull, Scaffa and Iona should prove to be quite a day!  Until tomorrow!
